How do I choose a real estate agent in North Park?
Pick the agent who is most active in North Park right now. A big sales total tells you less than you'd think. Ask how many homes they toured in person last year, how often they walk new listings, and whether they bring you properties or wait for the MLS. I'm Jared Harman, and here are my answers.

Why isn't sales volume the best way to pick an agent?
Because it measures the past. Sales count and volume are easy to quote and easy to compare, but they don't tell you whether that agent was inside a North Park house last week.
The number that matters is activity. How often are they on caravan, the weekly window when agents walk through what just hit the market? Are they hearing about off-market homes? Are they researching the neighborhood themselves, or reading it off a report?
Activity is hard to see from the outside, which is exactly why you should ask.

How many homes they personally toured last year. Mine was more than 800 in 2025.
That one usually surprises people. It also means I've often already walked the homes a client sends me before they send them.
What question do almost no buyers ask?
Who is going to find the listings. A lot of buyers end up doing the searching themselves and forwarding links to their agent. It should run the other way.
Your agent should be out looking for homes that fit you, including ones that haven't hit the MLS yet. Ask how they do that, and listen for a real answer.

What else should I ask an agent in North Park?
